titlePANS-AIM Issue

PANS AIM 5.3.3.1.1 lists ATS Airspace and Special Activity Airspacesactivity airspaces. PANS-AIM Appendix 1 in addition also lists defines Aerial sporting activities airspace.   For the mapping a distinction between Special Activity Airspaces and Besides the property "operator" defined for the Aerial sporting activities airspace is not made, but the only additional properties defined for the all the other properties of Aerial sporting activities airspace can also be found as property for Special activity airspaces. Hence, th emapping is done for all the Special activity airspaces and for Aerial sporting activities airspace only the additinal property "operator" is considered in this mapping for Special Activity Airspacesmapped.

titleOpen Question

TBD: For military airspaces controlType is included in the mapping?

Besides some exceptions, AIXM does not provide dedicated type values for military airspaces (e.g. Military Training Area). Such airspaces are encoded with the corresponding controlType equal-to 'MIL'.

RulesProcedures.affectedArea,
RulesProcedures.title equal to'INTERCEPTION_CIVIL_AIRCRAFT',

RulesProcedures.category,

RulesProcedures.content

Only required for Airsapce.type equal-to 'ADIZ'.

The property affectedArea is used to relate the concerned airspace to the rules and procedure for interception. AIXM provides a dedicated vallue for the title attribute for the interception of civil aircraft.

The remaining attributes may be used to specify the interception rules/procedures in more detail.

titleOpen Question: Frequency

For Frequency the only option is to go via Service. It seems unlikely that for an Aerial sporting activities airspace any of the Services defined in AIXM 5.1.1 will be provided.

Shall Service be used anyway (with e.g. Information Service with type OTHER:)?
