Service Definitions

• specification development progress

  • comments from DSNA were reviewed and resolutions proposed

    • the group agreed not to make any requirement on the need for registration in the specification. This topic should be discussed with SDM.

  • a comment with regards quality of data was reviewed. It deals with the timeliness aspect of the data. This can be added once the ripple it known e.g. on service descriptions.

  • the group agreed that the specification can go to the consultation step

• ICAO Job Card progress

  • a comparison of service definition fields to those in the service overview has taken place

  • the next step is to look at our pages to see what fields are suitable for inclusion

• supporting material needs identified

  • can already recuperate some of the Service Design Activities work

  • guidance on registration aspects would be appreciated

Service Metadata Schema

• "candidate service schema" updates

  • From Registry CCB: no dedicated schema will be made available. It is the same as the service description (compliant) schema with a few fields being optional. The next step is to propose formally to the Registry CCB (after informal heads up during last meeting) a phase out of the notion of Candidate after the summer.

  • Check how this impacts draft services - is it possible to upload a work in progress or must the file be fully valid against the schema before it can be uploaded?

Service Harmonisation Resources

Service Registry

• ICAO Job Card progress. The registry interoperability team will focus on a concept for this year addressing the differences between interoperable, interconnected and integrated registries at the international level. Any work on service metadata to be exchanged between registries will start next year.

Service Developments

• updated status of the meteorological and aeronautical SWIM services.

  • supporting material for them will be developed by the various groups e.g. A3SG and MET3SG

  • we have been asked to look into quality of service (see FAQ above)

• Aeronautical SWIM service definitions are now in the registry. The draft ICAO AIS Manual Volume 4 will mention them. A new project, ACADIA, will look to implement them.

• Meteorological SWIM services definitions are still a work in progress.
