  • in general the proposed responses to the comments were accepted and no objections to the publication were received.

Ongoing tasks

• Maintain supporting material

  • Best practices to harmonise content of service description fields.

    • See the linked page for the discussions.

  • How to structure new supporting material to take into account the updated version of the specification

    • Keep old handbook (properly versioned) and add new version for the update specification

    • Replace content with items on the reference page to reduce maintenance overhead. Emphasise the reference site more on the home page.

    • Delete Service Identification Document as we have done no work on this. If needed, we can create a task to update it.

    • Promote Service Metadata Schema to be at the same level as the handbooks. This is a key artefact and should be more obvious.

    • Move the remaining additional resources to where they are appropriate in the handbooks.

  • Affect on the service metadata schema - draft of the updated schema will be made available soon (late-March/early-April) for review.

• SWIM service ecosystem

  • Introduction to the ecosystem to explain its purpose and how it is reflected in the structure of the confluence pages: .

  • Documenting the use of standardised implementations

    • An example of what the ecosystem can help with: the role of OGC services and how to ensure harmonised content in service descriptions e.g. WMS (the role of graphical information and maps in SWIM)
