Welcome

The objectives of this meeting were:

  • work on the tasks agreed for this year

  • decide on a "version 1" of the handbook

Planning for "version 1"

The aim is to have a "version 1" of the Handbook by end of September. All comments will be moved to a new site so that "version 1" is clean. The idea is that version 1 can be cited by those using it. No comment will be lost and open comments will still be addressed for a "version 2". A way of managing comments in the future will be agreed.

Task updates

The task list is at: SITCOM Tasks.

Maintain supporting material

The group reviewed the work that had been done on items 5, 8-12.

  • Item 3 - Need to follow up with Joe on this.

  • Item 4 - see Understanding and recording mappings.

  • Item 5 - Can be closed. Reviewing it led to other comments. See below.

  • Item 13 - Sam updated the page with the outcome of the IMP. In short, there is no objection to writing some clarification text. We need to see where to put it. Sam is willing to write the text.

New comments to process. Replies will be left on the pages and new action items raised to manage them.

Understanding and recording mappings

The existing comment thread was noted. These are still seen as "brainstorming". More time is needed to come to any better practice here. Scott will summarise the existing comments into a proposal that can be further worked on.

AIRM review

The following invitation has been sent. It is not clear if there will be a website dedicated to the event - Scott to check.

EUROCONTROL SWIM Service Implementation Workshop

EUROCONTROL SWIM Service Implementation Workshop

9-11 December 2019

Call for presenters and exhibitors

Dear colleague,

EUROCONTROL is organising a workshop to support the implementation of SWIM Information Services. The workshop (presentations and exhibition) will be held from 9 to 11 December 2019 (starting at 1.30 p.m. on 9 December and finishing at 12.30 p.m. on 11 December).

On the basis of your known experience in SWIM, you have been identified as a potential presenter or exhibitor, and we would very much value your contribution to this event!

The objective of the workshop is to share experience and demonstrate SWIM service implementations, including the application of the existing SWIM specifications:

  • EUROCONTROL Specification for SWIM Service Description

  • EUROCONTROL Specification for SWIM Information Definition

  • EUROCONTROL Specification for SWIM Technical Infrastructure (TI) Yellow Profile

  • EUROCAE ED-254 “Arrival Sequence Service Performance Specification”

We would like to invite SWIM service implementers to present their SWIM service developments based on these specifications, and/or to demonstrate their implementations to a global SWIM audience. The workshop is aimed at both existing and future SWIM implementers, in order to allow them to share and discuss experience in developing and implementing SWIM.

The focus of the workshop will be on:

  • Operational and prospective SWIM Information Services in all ATM domains (airports, ANSPs, the military, MET, the network, etc.)

  • Development of SWIM Information Services applying the SWIM specifications

  • SWIM technical infrastructure

  • Provision of ATM data services as SWIM Information Services

For organisational reasons we would ask you to kindly indicate your interest in actively participating in the workshop by filling in the form below by 16 September.
