Update on tasks

Task list

The updated task list is at SSCONE-SITCOM Tasks.

Completed tasks

  • /wiki/spaces/SCOI/pages/59606089
    • Visualisation tool was deployed. SeePresentation of the visualisation toolshttp://www.airm.aero/developers/semantic-correspondences.html
    • This activity can be closed for now. It can be reactivated if new requirements are identified.
    • Two new areas for semantic correspondence work were raised:
      • vertiport - will need to be mapped to the AIRM at some point
      • IWXXM. Although work has started on this, a new weather object concept is being discussed that may affect IWXXM.

Ongoing tasks

  • Service Definitions
    • The page that captures the basic understanding was reviewed. It was generally accepted as the baseline from which we can work
    • The group agreed to look to the content that is expected in service definitions. At the moment, it is too dependent on the service description requirements. It would be worthwhile making it stand on its own.
    • The work in converting EATMA services to service definitions was mentioned. At the moment, it involves exporting content from MEGA to the Service Metadata Schema. An update can be given once the work is more mature.
    • The difference between a service candidate and e.g. a service definition should be covered as part of the service categorisation task.
  • /wiki/spaces/SCOI/pages/59605847
    • tasks up and running
    • use of skos/rdf The progress on the tasks was given, Basically, work has started on the first 4 topics.
    • There was a presentation (RoughGuideSemantics.pdf) on semantics. This gave a broad overview of the technology and ideas on how we could apply it for for more flexible classification schemes
    • IWXXM has some support for skos concepts.
    • IATA's cargo ontology also shows good progress in using semantic technologies.
  • Service Metadata Schemawill be updated inline with the review of the specification
  • /wiki/spaces/SCOI/pages/59605825
    • outline what is needed
  • Service Definitions
    • page to capture the basic understanding has been prepared. If we are happy with this as a baseline we can look at the content.
