Information exchange requirements drive the identification and definition of information services.

Information exchange requirements specify the who, why, what and how of information exchange and typically include the following aspects:

  • Actors (involved in the exchange of information)
    • Information Provider (E.g. AISP)
    • Information Consume (E.g. Airspace User)
  • Purpose (of the information exchange)
    • Operational Needs (E.g. Pre-flight Briefing)
  • Information (that is the "what" is exchanged)
    • Information Elements (E.g. Aeronautical Information Features)
  • Interaction (that specify how information is exchanged)
    • Information Exchange Initiation ( E.g. whenever required by information consumer,  whenever information changes,... )
    • Information Exchange Frequency (E.g. Monthly in accordance with AIRAC )
    • Filtering
  • Non Functional Requirements
    • Integrity required for the information exchanged
    • Confidentiality of the information exchanged
  • Constraints (additional considerations that influence the exchange of information) 
    • Technical Constraints (E.g. AIXM)
    • Operational Constraints
    • Legal Constraints
