Welcome

Objectives of this meeting are:

  • work on tasks and identify new tasks

Update on tasks

Completed tasks

  • None

New tasks

  • Landing page - make it easier to find SWIM artefacts

    • This should be coordinated with SWIM-TEC. It has a meeting on 16 April that will discuss how to restructure the Foundation document to add links to other artefacts.

    • Confluence would be a good place to have the landing page

  • The need for the ecosystem was emphasised at the round table - snapshot of where we are so we can better understand the evolution

    • SWIM-TEC is considering something similar including: foundation, requirements, good practices and monitoring adherence to them

  • Consider how to get service consumers involved

Artefacts to describe services

Service Definitions

  • The comments on the draft specification have been processed and the statement of responses approved.

    • none of the comments led to fundamental changes

    • the requirements will be unaffected.

    • publication is on the way.

  • supporting material

    • The supporting material will adopt the same structure and format as the other handbooks. The plan is to upload the material based on what we already have and then enter the commenting/revision phase.

    • needs identified:

      • can already recuperate some of the Service Design Activities work

      • guidance on registration aspects would be appreciated, taking into account the work of the ICAO Information Management Panel

      • guidance on quality of service and quality of data

        • It is proposed to explain the options available to implementers using supporting material e.g. publishing exact figures or schedules of outages etc.

      • templates - these can evolve from Service definition template if any changes are needed

  • ICAO

    • the service definition framework has been broadly accepted

    • the next step is to agree the content of an ICAO information service definition.

    • obviously we can promote our work.

Service Overviews

  • We are still awaiting PANS-IM but it should be published soon.

    • The supporting material will be shorter and concentrate on mapping to the relevant service description requirement - service overviews are subsets of service descriptions.

    • We already have a lot of this written but it is worth a check.

Service Descriptions

  • Archived v1 of the service description handbook as it should no longer be used.

  • SWIM-TEC is considering if we need more on how to validate a service. Maybe this is something that will impact us e.g. the creation of test suits attached to the specifications.

    • It would be good to have the survey results presented at the next SSCONE-SITCOM meeting.

Service Metadata Schema

  • no updates

Support

FAQ

  • Agreed to move the following FAQs to the live page:

    • How is the quality of service documented at various service lifecycle stages?

    • How is the quality of data documented at various service lifecycle stages?

SWIM service ecosystem

Service Harmonisation Resources

Service Registry

  • ICAO

    • ICAO IMP registry interoperability team is looking at metadata to describe services. This allows us to present the service metadata schema (and semantics).

    • The registry interoperability concept will be discussed at the IMP meeting in Montreal in April.

    • An update will be given at the next SSCONE-SITCOM.

Service Portfolio

  • no updates

Service Developments

  • it would be good to start collecting experiences on service developments from SSCONE-SITCOM members.

Any other business

  • Migration to new confluence site still to be done.

Next meetings

The meeting schedule is maintained at SSCONE-SITCOM Meetings.

Next round table planned for 26 June. Back-to-back with SWIM-TEC. Will take place in Brussels. Please raise topics to be discussed.
