To the maximum possible extent, AIXM Business Rules (using the SBVR standard) are defined both for the technical interoperability rules and for the business oriented coding rules are being provided for each data set. These are provided as an AIXM Business Rules profile for the AIS Data Set, which is based on the EUROCONTROL Specification for AIS Data Sets Using AIXM 5.1.1. For each rule, two levels of non-compliance are identified - error or warning.

Rule

The AIS Data Set shall comply with all the rules from the corresponding AIXM Business Rules - AIS Data Set Profile that are identified with an ‘Error’ level in case of non-compliance.

Recommendation

The AIS Data Set should comply with all the rules from the corresponding AIXM Business Rules - AIS Data Set Profile that are identified with an ‘Warning’ level in case of non-compliance.
